This is Rentnercollective? was a group show, which I helped to organise in early 2004. The show was made up of works by 8 different artists, who were all working more or less closely together as a group at the time, exploring and expanding the concepts surrounding 'Rentner'. The result was chaotic on the one hand, presenting each person's own interpretation of the subject, yet had a common signature on the other, with subjects, themes and motifs running through the different works and media, which included sculpture, painting, writing, video and installation. This online presentation (which is the appropriate chapter in 'the book') is not intended to showcase each individual artwork, but present the overall feel and atmosphere of the show, which was very much the result of a combined effort. This manifested itself in particular through the theme and motif of the colour red, thereby exploring issues such as group identity, social structures of groups and their impact on creative collaborations.
